Queena Accepts The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

In honor of all of Queena’s friends with ALS whom she see’s met through therapy sessions, Queena and her sister Anna accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge, a new social phenomenon that has spread over the last few weeks.

We were nominated on August 19 by Join Queena supporters Rachel and Brandy to help raise funds and spread awareness for the ALS Association. The challenge? Dump a bucket of ice water on our heads and donate a minimum of $10 to ALSA or forfeit and donate a minimum of $100.

We understand how hard it can be to survive with brain damage. Extensive research efforts and financial support for medical expenses have given Queena a fighting chance to overcome the effects of her traumatic brain injury. We hope that the money raised for the ALS Association from this challenge will do the same for those suffering from ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain.

Raising awareness is crucial. According to the ALSA website, since the Ice Bucket Challenge was introduced a few weeks ago, the Association has welcomed more than 70,000 new donors to the cause.

Queena was excited to accept the challenge, until that ice cold water hit her head.

We now nominate our two dear friends, state prosecutor Rita Peters and Winter the Dolphin, for the ICE BUCKET CHALLANGE. You have 24 hours to complete the challenge!
