I learned about your story for the first time today. I needed to hear your story today even though I dididn’t know it. My life too was derailed that year. I was 17, not by an exeternal force but an internal one within my own body. Today your story reminded me that even though every day is a battle, it is a blessing to have people that love and support us in our lives. You reminded me to celebrate the small steps im making in my recover rather than worry about what other people can do that I can’t and I really needed that reminder today. I want to thank you and your family for having your story out there beause it made a difference in my life today. I watched the Jail lockup show as I always do and saw your attacker last night. I wanted to learn more about the true victim . What I found was an amazing, beautiful girl. On Good Friday we remember the horrible suffering and death of Jesus, who gave His life so that we may have eternal life in Heaven if we confess our sins and follow Him.
On Good Friday, March 29, 2013, we also want to remember Queena Phu. On this special day she and her family are seeking healing from the injuries and pain she has sustained from the horrific attack she suffered five years ago.
Thank you, Lord, that Queena did survive the attack. This was the prayer of her mother at that time. Thank you that Queena has been surrounded by caring doctors, nurses, therapists, caregivers, family and friends who are all working together to improve her health. Thank you for the generosity of many people who helped financially.
We want to pray together that your miraculous touch will be with those who minister this special treatment to Queena on Good Friday. We pray also for safety on the highways and overnight lodging as Vanna, Queena, and her caregiver travel to Boca Raton and back.
We most of all want to submit our wishes for Queena to your will and your plan for her life. She has touched so many people’s lives already. Jeremiah 29:11 makes this promise: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

When I got home that night, I turned on the news and they had the story about the library. I remember thinking, I was so close by that area–it gave me chills! Dear Queena, I love your smile! It’s infectious! I think back to when I was six years old and was frequently molested by a babysitter. Several other traumatic events occurred in my life over the next four years. But two things helped me. One, the Beatles came to America (February, 1964) and restored my joy and put a song in my heart again. Then in April of ’64 I saw this film about the Titanic called A NIGHT TO REMEMBER and I had my very first profound thought at the age of 10, that if those people could survive that, I could survive THIS. And I did! But not only that, I thrived. In fact, years later as I was performing in South Florida on stage at the Lake Worth Playhouse, I met a man who was not only my co-star, but his day-job was as a psychiatrist. I told him my story at length and he said, “You’re not only a thriver—you’re a SUPER-THRIVER.” Well, Queena, that is YOU, too!!! You are a SUPER-THRIVER. Stay strong, my sister, for surely our common experiences, make us sisters.

What I think is that if Queena continues this program that she will make a tremendous and positive improvement inside and out of her. From the PT, it really seems like she is improving each time she comes there, like her attitude and efforts. It also looks like she is working very hard and it is starting to pay off now and as she continues, I would feel that every hard work that she has pulled out will pay off even more.
